Maharana Sanga (1509-1528) -
At the time of Maharana Sanga of Mewar, the ruler of Kabul was Babur (Mohammed Zahiruddin Bawar) who was the son of Umarsheikh Mirza, a descendant of Timur Lang. His mother was from the lineage of Genghis Khan. Babur defeated Sultan Ibrahim Lodi of Delhi in the first battle of Panipat on April 20, 1526 and laid the foundation stone of Mughal rule over Delhi.
After taking over Delhi, Babur also attacked the powerful ruler of that time, Rana Sanga, to establish his authority. He wanted to establish his empire over India. Babur had made his camp at Fatehpur sikri.
Battle of Khatoli (1517): The first war between Delhi's Sultan Ibrahim Lodi and Rana Sanga took place in 1517 AD at a place called Khatoli near Bundi. Ibrahim Lodi was defeated in this war. In this war, one hand of Maharana Sangram Singh (Sanga) was cut off and there was a deep wound in his leg.
Battle of Khanwa On March 17, 1527, a fierce battle took place between the two armies in the field of Khanwa. The plain of Khanwa is in Rupwas tehsil of modern Bharatpur district. In this war almost all the kings of Rajputana were under the flag of Maharana Sanga. The left part of Rana Sanga's army launched a fierce attack on the right part of the Mughal army, which the Mughal army could not withstand. So another group of Babur's army came to help. At the same time, Babur started the artillery. The barrage of cannonballs, which the Rajputs had seen for the first time, struck terror in the Rajat army. Rajput commanders Dalpat, Chandrabhan, Uday Singh, Bhopatrai, Manikchandra Chauhan, Ratan Singh Chundawat, Ramdas Songara, Hasan Khan Mewati, Parmar Gokuldas, Raimal Rathod, Ratan Singh Medatiya, Rawat 1. Jagga, Khetsi, Rawat Bagh Singh, Karamchand etc. Got martyrdom. Rana sanga also broke down on the enemies like death in the battlefield.
